Date Ideas in Santiago You’ll Want to Try More Than Once

If you are living in Santiago or visiting for a few days, one of the best surprises is how many genuinely fun date ideas this city offers. Santiago has cozy wine bars, rooftop restaurants, mountain views, live music, and some of the prettiest walkable neighborhoods in South America. Whether you want something adventurous, romantic, low-key, or food-focused, there is a date for every mood.

After moving to Chile, we wanted to integrate into Chilean culture and make the most of this new city we were living in. Here are our favorite spots and activities that are perfect for couples who want something a little more special than the usual dinner and a movie.

Dinner in Barrio Italia

If you are new here, we love Barrio Italia. If you have read a few of our blogs, sorry not sorry, you will love it too. If you want something romantic but not too formal, Barrio Italia is the ideal neighborhood. It is full of tree lined streets, warm lighting, and restaurants that feel trendy without being intimidating. It is perfect for a calm night out where you can stroll, eat, and shop all in one area.

Rooftop Drinks with Andes Views

Santiago may not be known for its skyline, but it has some beautiful rooftops with unobstructed views of the Andes.

The W Hotel’s Red2One rooftop is a great option. Drinks are pricey, but the appetizers are delicious. They also give you complimentary champagne on your anniversary, which is a fun surprise. Make sure to make a reservation and let them know if you are celebrating.

Go near golden hour for the best experience. If you visit during winter, bring layers because Santiago rooftops get cold as soon as the sun goes down.

Live Music

For a date night with energy and atmosphere, live music is an easy win in Santiago. Whether you want to sit back with a cocktail or dance until late, these spots turn a regular night out into something memorable.

The Jazz Corner

Perfect for jazz lovers who want an intimate setting, great sound, and a relaxed, conversation-friendly vibe.

Salsoteca

Ideal for a fun night out dancing. They often offer a salsa class right before the party starts, making it great even if you are a beginner.

Backroom Bar

A stylish, low-key option for live sets, cocktails, and a cool crowd without the chaos of a club.

Couples Spa

For a unique date night, try a spa or thermal style sauna experience. Do not skip this. We have spoiled ourselves with massages because they are affordable in Santiago.

Our favorite spots:

  • Shadar Spa in Providencia
  • Spa Mandala in Las Condes

Avoid long weekends for Cajón del Maipo. Trust us.
